The statistics behind the mission...
Why we do this!

-
Education is the key to a child's future success! According to the Borgen Project. “Extreme poverty pushes children in Madagascar into child labor. Approximately half of the population under 18, participate in labor of some kind. Many of these children work instead of attending school.”
-
We provide a safe place where a child can learn and grow! UNICEF reports that 86% of children aged 1-14 experience physical punishment and/or psychological aggression.
-
We provide daily nutritious meals and snacks as well as filter, clean drinking water. According to the Lancet, "undernutrition is a huge problem in Madagascar because of poverty and issues such as drought. The country is ranked fourth in the world for chronic undernutrition, according to UNICEF, with around 2 million children affected."
-
Teaching hygiene and receiving good medical care is an important piece of our program. Healthcare is scant or nonexistent for most of our children, so having guaranteed access to medical care is invaluable to our children's health.
